Our Quality

The crew here at Legacy Woodworking has been professionally developing woodworking projects for more than twenty years and has created some of the most intricate woodworking projects imaginable. We have built standalone creations that require master craftsmanship because of the designs integrated throughout a project. We have also developed projects that are literally provide beauty, functionality and structural integrity for the recipient home all at once. Take a look through some of our accomplishments and capabilities outlined below.

Our Quality

We use some of the highest quality of wood, stain and hardware that you will find anywhere. Our goal is to build each and every cabinet to last as long as the house itself will last.

We pay very careful attention to the structural integrity of our cabinets, which is why we use glue, screws, and building techniques that are unsurpassed in the U.S. We insist on using dowelled face frames, 3/4 inch plywood and solid wood, and blind dado all our joints.

We have some of the best machinery in the world to help us accomplish the goal of lifelong cabinetry. Even the stain and finish we use is the most durable that California AQMD allows!

Our experience gives us the ability to produce this high quality craftsmanship at a fast pace. We can build, stain, and install a full kitchen about 5 times a month.

A Few Details

Damage Resistance

The inside of our cabinets are water-resistant lacquered plywood. This means that, in the case of a kitchen installation or other use near water sources, leaks will not damage your woodworking. This is very different from other companies that use melamine instead. The problem with that is that melamine has a particle-board core, which expands when it gets wet. This would break the glue joints and severely damage the product. We avoid this problem all together.

The basic design of our cabinets support transport and installation, even when mishaps occur. The reason is that the plywood is far more durable than the particle board used by other companies. Shifts, hits, and other duress will not damage our products, even at intensities that would destroy particle board-based products. (Shifting can occur as a result of settling of a new house or certain events such as seismic activity or erosive events such as a flood.)

Blind dados are used to interlock the wood together. Because we use this technique, our product is interlinked together, creating a very powerful support structure for the wood. It becomes basically impossible for the cabinet to separate and come apart.
