Our Experience
Legacy Woodworking is a Fifth Generation woodworking family business, run today by experts in wood and woodworking. The first in this long line woodworking experts began offering services in Idaho during the beginning of the 20th century, perfecting the trade in the interior of our country. He passed the trade to his son, Doc Holden, in the 1920's. Doc continued the tradition of woodworking in Idaho where it began.
In 1956, Dale Holden, Doc's son moved to Orange County California where he, too, continued providing quality woodworking services. At the time, Dale offered his services as an employee of a local company in Orange County. He continued this until the early 1990's, during which time he helped train and perfect the capabilities of his son and his grandson.
Dale's son, Rick Holden, learned the trade as well and began in 1972 with a local custom cabinetry company located in Chino, CA, focusing on kitchens and bathrooms. He began as an electrician for woodworking products such as cabinets, etc., and continued into woodworking as a main trade by 1978. Rick today works at the same company, serving as the General Manager and Vice President.
Rick's son, Travis Holden, now Founder and President of Legacy Woodworks, was trained by both his father, who passed down the trade that has now been in the family for more than a century! Building on this long standing tradition, and having learned business operations and management from his father, Travis decided to start his own business in the same trade region. Thus began Legacy Woodworks, a custom woodworking service company located in Chino, CA.
Legacy Woodworks was founded in March 2006 with the goal of providing very high quality cabinets at an affordable price with service to Southern California. In the beginning, this was realized through entertainment center projects, which made up the bulk of the contracts serviced by Legacy. Since then, the focus has expanded to include a number of other woodworking projects including full kitchen remodels, crown molding, bathroom cabinets, hallway cabinets, custom novelty pieces, etc. The bulk of this work has been in residential settings, slowly expanding to small and medium sized businesses.
